After Hong Kong, Woodland to explore other global markets

Following consistent growth of 25 to 30 percent, Woodland, the popular brand from of Aero Club, is looking to outperform its own targets. “With more and more inclination towards outdoor sports, we expect crossing our own benchmark,” says Harkirat Singh, Managing Director, Aero Club. From

the very beginning, Woodland’s target audience has been adventure enthusiasts, from the teenager to elderly, which has pushed them to explore, innovate and launch adventure sports related apparel, footwear and accessories.

panding store network and reach

As of now Woodland commands a network of 480 exclusive stores worldwide. The brand also has a presence in more than 4,000 multi-brand outlets in a number of countries. Elaborating on their retail plans, Singh says, “At present, we have a strong presence with exclusive stores in India plus our products are available through 4,000 multi brand retailers. This year, we are planning to add another 50 to 60 in India. We also have a strong global presence spread across more than 40 countries. This year we opened our first exclusive store in Hong Kong and are also studying other international markets such as China, Australia and CIS countries. Hopefully, by this year end, we should have one store in each of these countries.”

The Aero Group is an integrated company with its own leather tanning units and production facilities in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Macau and Canada.

Exploring adventure sports with new products

Woodland’s parent company, Aero Group, has been a well-known name in the outdoor shoe space since the early 50’s. In 1992, Aero Group launched Woodland and it immediately caught the attention of outdoor enthusiasts. It brought with it, an innovative collection designed to provide rock climbers, backpackers, hikers, trail runners, and outdoor lovers with the perfect tools to meet nature’s challenges.

“And as the calendar turned towards the new millennium, Woodland kept expanding its line of outdoor shoes, performance apparels, and equipment to cater to the needs of those always reaching for the horizon. But the desire to explore does not have any boundaries. Adventure does not come with any limits. Discovery does not have an end. These are as vast as the outdoors. It is this conviction that has taken Woodland to the forefront of the global outdoor products industry,” avers Singh.

Woodland’s latest Autumn/Winter collection has a wide range of fashionable apparels comprising of hoodies, jackets, sweatshirts, trousers, cargoes in vibrant color combinations. The uniqueness of this collection is that it has been specially designed and customized to fulfill the needs of outdoor enthusiasts who love being outdoors despite of extreme cold temperatures. In addition, it has tech-led products under its patented technologies like InfraLite, AquaSorb and HeatLock among others.

“From jackets to sweatshirts, technologically advanced shoes to water resistant ones, we have a plethora of adventure apparels, shoes and gears. Our apparel line starts from Rs 2,000 onwards,” adds Singh.
