Aditya Birla Fashion net profit up seven percent

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail reported a seven per cent increase in net profit at Rs 65 crores for the quarter ended September 30. The company’s net profit in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year was Rs 61 crores. Total income from operations during the September quarter also rose by 13 per cent to Rs 1,887 crores over Rs 1,668 crores in the year-ago period.

The company’s Pantaloon brand contributed Rs 726.7 crores to revenues and reported year on year growth of 21.7 per cent. Its major brand, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, witnessed year on year growth of 4.8 percent. During the quarter, the company entered into a partnership with one of UK’s biggest brands, Ted Baker.
