Leading ecommerce players are continuously in the news, for getting funds, acquiring smaller players and expanding their portfolio and reach. Amid all the activity, they are also focusing on getting hold of the prime realty spaces in major metros Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Flipkart is set to establish its campus in Bangalore over three million square feet, the biggest so far among its rivals. Other major players like Amazon, Jabong and Snapdeal are expected to follow suit. As per a Cushman & Wakefield report, Flipkart last year topped the list among e-commerce players by taking up three office properties, totaling 411,000 square feet, on Bangalore's Outer Ring Road. Having 10 offices in Bengaluru and 13 warehouses across the country, Flipkart is said to be in the final stages of signing the proposed campus, where all its employees are expected to be accommodated.

Last year, Jabong and Snapdeal signed huge spaces and experts say they are ready to finalise a few more this year. While Jabong picked up 120,000 square feet in Gurgaon, Snapdeal acquired 115,000 square feet in Delhi last year. And even Amazon’s India arm is said to be scouting for a large office space of more than one million square feet in Bengaluru this year. For now, it has campuses in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, besides offices in 15 Indian cities.
