H&M posts 2 percent rise in Q2 sales

Sales including VAT at Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M), in the second quarter to May 31, 2018, amounted to 60,464 million Swedish krona (6,904.8 million dollars), representing an increase of 2 percent compared to the corresponding quarter the previous year. Sales excluding VAT amounted to 51,983 million Swedish krona (5,933.6 million dollars) and in local currencies sales including VAT were unchanged.

The total number of stores in the H&M group were 4,801 as of May 31, 2018 compared to 4,498 stores at the same time the previous year.

In addition to H&M, the group brands include COS, Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday, & Other Stories, H&M Home and Arket as well as Afound. The H&M group has 47 online markets and more than 4,800 stores in 69 markets including franchise markets. In 2017, sales including VAT amounted to 232 billion Swedish krona (26.5 billion dollars).
