Levi Strauss to simultaneously unveil global products in India

Levi Strauss & Co. has decided to unveil new products in India, simultaneously with their launch globally. The company is focusing on its denim portfolio to grow its business in the country.

The company is looking forward to increase its same-store sales by more than 10 percent this fiscal year, ending March 2015. After two decades of lull, Levi Strauss managed to turn around its business in India, last fiscal. The American denim company reported a net profit of Rs 49 crores for the fiscal year through March 2014 against a Rs 161 crores loss the previous year. Revenues grew 24 percent over the fiscal year 2012/13. The company was able to book profits on the back of strong focus on its flagship Levi's brands, R&D in terms of product innovation as well as consolidation of franchisees.

Levi Strauss is present in 1,500 stores across India, including 400 exclusive stores and multi-brand outlets such as Shoppers Stop and Lifestyle.
