ShopClues expects sales worth Rs 1,500 cr around Diwali

Online marketplace ShopClues.com is optimistic about a crackling festive season. The company expects to sell goods worth Rs 1,500 crores between the festival months of October and November. This would be, almost a tenfold increase over the same period, last year. Special offers, deals and discounts as well as exclusive collections will be key drivers to this growth.

Operated by Gurgaon-based Clues Network, the company aims to touch an annualised GMV of 1.2 billion dollars (over Rs 7,800 crores) by the end of this fiscal with demand for products under the lifestyle and home-kitchen categories witnessing a considerable increase. With a seller base of 250,000, ShopClues has also launched a service called ShopClues Connect, within the app that allows consumers to directly interact with the seller and negotiate prices.

The marketing strategy revolving around the season ahead would also see the launch of new ShopClues television campaign by early next month. The company boasts of over 60 million monthly visitors on its website and more than 30 million listed products on the platform.

With ecommerce firms trying to turn profitable while initiating measures to expand its offerings and better service to please the consumer, this Tiger Global-backed firm recently announced its plans to position its ecommerce operating system on Cloud to promote hyperlocal services. To help its existing sellers expand their offline reach, ShopClues will aggregate services such as marketing, logistics and advertising on digital channels.
