India’s oldest organized retailer Shoppers Stop plans to strengthen its online and offline presence to boost sales. The departmental store chain plans to infuse Rs 140 crores raised through internal accruals to expand its store presence and online sales infrastructure within next one year.

With 73 stores, the company is looking forward to adding 6 Shoppers Stop stores, 3 HyperCity stores and 5 speciality stores over the next 12 months. The company has managed to generate Rs 150 crores of cash through sales last year and expects to earn around Rs 190 crores through sales over the next year.

Shoppers Stop also aims to partner with e-commerce platforms Flipkart and Snapdeal to bring down the negative impact of steep discounts offered by these platforms. While Shoppers Stop will not engage into any discounting online, it would let the partner e-tailers continue with their own discounted offers to woo customers on their sites. The company aims to retail six of its in-house labels through these partners.
