Uniqlo January same-store sales increase 14.6 percent

January 2016 same-store sales at Uniqlo Japan increased by 14.6 percent year on year, while sales at its own stores increased by 14.1 percent. Total sales including online sales during the month under review, increased by 16 percent.
The company said, same-store sales rose year on year in January owing to strong New Year bargain sales and buoyant sales of winter items, which were supported by persistent cold weather throughout the month. Uniqlo closed two stores in Japan during the month.
