V-Mart revenue jumps 18 percent in September quarter

In its unaudited results for the quarter ending September 2014, V-Mart
Retail the retail chain has said it plans to open 25 stores in FY’15. It
maybe noted that V-Mart had opened 23 stores in FY’14. Meanwhile, the
company reported a growth in sales of 18 percent on year-on-year basis in
the September quarter.
V-Mart plans to expand its store network by opening another 200 stores in non-metros over the next four years. The company retails apparels in Tier II and III cities. It now plans to venture into the Northeast and Southern regions.
While V-Mart depends upon its physical stores and gets 85 percent of its revenue from apparels and fashion wear, the company has announced plans to tap the online medium. It currently operates 89 outlets at 76 different locations, selling grocery at its 35 outlets and fashion through the rest.
