Amazon.in most visited online platform in October

Amazon.in saw a maximum visitors on its web and mobile sites in October with over 20 crores hits. This came up in an internet analytics firm comScore study which looked at e-commerce players battling for consumer attention during the festive period. Rivals Snapdeal saw 10.9 crores visitors, while Flipkart saw 16.4 crores visitors on its web and mobile sites combined. An annual comparison shows that Amazon has also seen the most rapid growth in one year between November 2014 to October 2015.

From 8.5 crore visitors in 2014 to over 20 crores this year, Amazon India has seen a good growth. Flipkart saw 16.3 crores visitors in October 2015 and while they were in the lead with 14 crores visitors in October 2014. Whereas, Snapdeal saw a marginal growth from about 9 crore visitors, to about 11 crores visitors in one year.

Amazon saw more than 30 million unique monthly visitors on the desktop site in October, even though more than 70 per cent sale for the company reportedly takes place through the mobile application. ComScore numbers revealed that this is higher than other comparable e-commerce players, including Flipkart which saw 26.9 million unique desktop visitors.

In the last year alone, Amazon India, which now has over 21 fulfilment centres in the country, has tripled its capacity, with a cumulative storage capacity of five million cubic feet. The company plans to expand its operations in India.

Amazon
