Puma unveils Pulse XT shoe for women, bets big on India

Global sportswear brand Puma launched Pulse XT, a fitness shoe in India, exclusively designed for women. Pulse XT is in line with the brand’s strategy of making an aggressive foray into women’s fitness and training segment. The company has roped in actress Jacqueline Fernandez as its training ambassador in the country.

Puma’s sales grew by about 33 per cent, driven by women’s fitness and training segment and it is looking forward to a growth over 50 percent with its new shoe launch. Puma’s like to like stores sales increased 13 percent since 2014 and unlike its rivals, who are focusing on increasing online growth, Puma plans to expand more physical stores. At present, the brand has 340 stores in 115 cities.

This year, Puma also introduced 'Ignite' brand of running shoes in the country and last year it had introduced its leading shoe brands -- Mobium and Faas. It would unveil Arsenal's jersey here in the second half of this year.
