Former eBay India head to join Jabong as COO

Online fashion retailer Jabong has a new Chief Operating Officer (COO) as they have hired former eBay India country head B Muralikrishnan to head the company at a time when it is looking at strengthening its marketplace model and reducing dependence on an inventory-led business. Also, the appointment comes in the wake of chief marketing officer Saurabh Srivastava putting in his paper.

Srivastava quit after being with the company since October last year when the company had undergone intensive churn after its founders Praveen Sinha and Arun Chandra Mohan had exited. All that Sanjeev Mohanty, CEO and MD had to say was that they are focused on building an experienced and professional management team that can help turn Jabong into India’s first profitable e-commerce venture.

Meanwhile, Muralikrishnan will look after the technology, product and digital marketing functions. Presently, he is the chief operating officer at online real estate portal indiaproperty.com and before that he was with eBay for eight years.
