Festive season Amazon, Flipkart compete with each other with mega sale

In this festival sale period, two ecom biggies are set to clash. Amazon has announced its annual sales event Great Indian Festival from October 1 to 5 while Flipkart has announced Big Billion Days sale slated from October 2 to 6. Snapdeal , the third biggest player in the e-commerce space in the country, is also holding its sales event called Unbox Diwali sale between October 2 and 6.

Amazon’s festival sale will be its biggest ever in the country and will deal from thousands of sellers and brands. However, the latest guidelines from the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) which bars e-commerce players from offering steep discounts might stand as a stumbling block. Amazon has upped the ante in the Indian e-commerce industry as it has already announced additional investment in the country.

The Great Indian Festival will have offers on a range of products from smart phones, tablets, laptops, PCs, musical instruments, stationery products, books, baby products, toys, clothing and accessories, shoes to beauty products, pet products, gourmet foods, gardening accessories and more. Prime members of Amazon will get 30 minutes early access to top deals, the company revealed.
