Festive season is just around the corner and India’s leading ecommerce player Flipkart is back again to woo customers with its second instalment of ‘Big Billion Sale’ from October 13 to 17, 2015. After drawing flak for its inability to handle the unexpected rush with orders getting cancelled, the ecommerce major is said to be well-prepared this time around.

This time, an app-only shopping event, ‘Big Billion Days’, will also offer exciting deals and discounts across 70 product categories Fashion portal Myntra will also be a part of the five-day ‘Big Billion Days’ event and will be presenting a curated selection from iconic fashion brands with exciting offers.

After a disappointing performance during the sale event last year, the company has invested in strengthening its technology back-up, supply chain and logistics to effectively cater to the target customers. The company has also opened new fulfilment centres across India to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

Last year, the platform was also criticised for its steep discounting policy by offline retailers as well as brands. While the country's largest listed retailer Future Group had said that the big bang sale strategies being adopted by online platforms is anti-competitive, merchants selling wares on these marketplace models said that the ecommerce platforms are forcing them to sell products much lower than their actual buying price affecting profit margins.
