British fashion and lifestyle brand Marks & Spencer (M&S) that is betting big on India has decided to sell its products on Flipkart and Myntra. While India doesn’t allow global brands to launch their own website, these brands can always sell through third-party Indian online platforms.

Experts believe that with ecommerce in India on a growth trajectory most of the global fashion brands present in the country such as Zara, H&M, Gap and M&S will have to follow the route for quick growth. Before M&S announced its online plans, Swedish fashion retail chain Hennes and Mauritz (H&M) also expressed its aim to go online at a later stage.

An India joint venture between Marks & Spencer and Reliance Retail plans to add 30 stores by the end of fiscal 2017. The group currently operates 50 stores in the country. The plan follows its growth performance of 23 percent in the fiscal year ended March 2015 in India.
