Fast Retailing’s Uniqlo is set to open its first global flagship store in Singapore this autumn, marking the retailer’s debut flagship location in the Southeast Asia region.

The Japanese fashion retailer is set to open its largest store in Singapore within the Orchard Central mall, along the Orchard Road, which is said to be the fashion hub of the country for both locals and visitors. Spanning 2,700 square meters spread across three levels, the global flagship store will offer Uniqlo’s extensive range of women’s wear, men’s wear and children’s wear as well as infant clothing. In addition, the opening of the flagship store will create over 300 new roles in Singapore.

"We are very honoured, and excited, to open our first Uniqlo Global Flagship Store in Singapore. Having been a member of the local retail scene since 2009, we remain committed toward contributing to the local community and being an integral part of Singapore's growth and future," said Taku Morikawa, Uniqlo Southeast Asia CEO. "We will continue our effort to design and create innovative clothes that enrich the daily lives of people, as a reflection of our LifeWear philosophy," he added.

The opening of the global flagship store in Singapore is part of the fashion retailer’s ongoing expansion scheme, to become the world's largest retailer by 2020 and adds to Uniqlo’s growing list of flagship stores in key cities around the world, including New York’s Fifth Avenue, London’s Oxford Street and Tokyo’s Ginza. The debut flagship store in Singapore will also act as a launching pad to introduce Uniqlo’s LifeWear brand to a larger audience.
