Japanese fast fashion retailer Uniqlo is all set to open a shop on JD.com, one of China's largest B2C online retailers. The official launch will be on April 17th, with the new Uniqlo store offering special Uniqlo “Born in China” t-shirt designs, which were developed by JD.com and Uniqlo. Apart from the t-shirts, Uniqlo will offer a wide range of products on JD.com’s main website and its mobile apps.

With the new flagship store, Uniqlo is following in the footsteps of many domestic and international brands that have opted for JD.com as the leading online platform in China to tap its massive customer base. According to a press release, "the addition of Uniqlo adds to JD.com’s growing reputation as the go-to destination for shoppers looking for authentic, high-quality goods in a broad and growing range of categories".

Unlike other brands, Uniqlo will be the first international clothing brand to use JD.com’s warehousing facilities, thus taking advantage of the online platforms full logistics network that currently allows for same-day and next-day delivery.

“We are excited to offer our customers the use of JD.com’s amazingly fast and trusted last-mile delivery network, which has proven to be an advantage in China’s ecommerce market. We expect that the secure and seamless shopping experience that JD.com offers will turn many shoppers into new Uniqlo customers in China, which is one of its most important overseas markets,” said Pan Ning, CEO of Uniqlo Greater China.

“With their new flagship store on our site Uniqlo will be able to satisfy the demands of Chinese shoppers who are seeking a fast, reliable and secure way to shop for authentic Uniqlo items from the comfort of their homes and with the fingertip convenience of their smartphones,” added Richard Liu, founder and CEO of JD.com.
