V-Mart to add 20 more new stores

V-Mart is looking to add more stories to its existing 140. The fashion retailer which is concentrated in northern and eastern India, plans to add 20 more stores. On an average, V-Mart sells around 25 million pieces of clothing a year. The target audience is people in the income bracket Rs 10,000 to Rs 40,000 a month, living in small towns, fashion conscious but not ready to spend heavily on clothes.

V-Mart, founded in 2002, prides itself on giving international fashion at half the price. Its team of designers track other brands offerings and tweek them to meet the tastes of Tier II, III and IV cities. If a dress has a thin straps running on the shoulder, the designers adds more fabric, makes sleeves, which gives a more covered look.

V-Mart is targeting revenue of Rs 1,000 crores in 2016-17. In Spring/Summer 2017, V-Mart's is on better assortments and combos at affordable prices. In addition, keeping the inventories at optimum level will be another focus area. The retail chain is upgrading its products and services to meet changing customer needs and has also launched a loyalty program to retain customers.
