While working towards becoming a market leader in the women’s wear category, Madame from the house of Jain Amar Clothing is now vying to reach the magical figure of 100 stores. As Bipan Jain, CMD, Jain Amar Clothing explains,

“Madame can undoubtedly be positioned as the largest single brand women’s western wear retailer in the country with a presence in more than 200 cities. Currently, the brand is active through multiple retail verticals such as sales, MBOs, large format stores, shop-in-shops and company operated chain stores.” It has a strong presence in almost 600 MBOs, and 90 EBOs and has established its presence internationally with the launch of three stores in Saudi Arabia. With a steady 35 per cent year-on-year growth, reaching the magical figure of 100 stores is the first target for now. That’s not all, with the government allowing 100 per cent FDI is single brand retail, Madame is in discussions with various international players and a JV would soon be a reality.

Madame
already has an e-shopping site in place and strategic tie-ups are being undertaken with other e-commerce portals to market the product. Jain feels quality is what has kept the company moving on since generations and it enjoys a 10 per cent market share today in the represented areas. Jain says “The Indian infrastructure has to be enhanced to compete with global players who are supposedly better than us especially in supply chain management.”

Offering a complete array of women’s western apparels and accessories under the Madame brand that include tops, jeans, shorts, jackets, blazers, shirts, sweat shirts, pullovers, T shirts, dresses, footwear, fashion jewelry to quote a few. Jain feels that the Indian women have adapted to western wear really well and that has provided the company the right stimulus to keep on expanding its offerings. It recently launched the Valentine’s collection at its exclusive stores and MBOs and it has had a tremendous response. No wonder the brand is aiming to emerge as one of the leaders in the women western wear market internationally
