Having just hit a total of 50 stores across the country, Reliance Trends wants to make that 100 by

March 2012. The last store was opened in Hyderabad. Also the company is planning to open two more stores soon at Siliguri in West Bengal and Bangalore, with the latter having its sixth store. Besides there are plans to bring in more private brands. Last year, the company closed with revenues of Rs 330 crores and expects to double it this year. Private brands contribute 50 per cent of its business. The core principle is ‘Fashion at Great Value’ and the stores offer a mix of private brands across all categories. The business is backed by promoters who are financially strong. Reliance Trends chief executive Arun Sirdeshmukh says they have seen a two-fold growth in revenues for the last three consecutive years and expect the same growth this year, over the Rs 330 crores turnover recorded last year.

Reliance Trends is the fashion apparels and accessories specialty concept of Reliance Retail and houses some of the best brands from various parts of the world. In the specialty apparel format, the company stocks 100 brands and owns 16 of them across men, women and children categories to fulfill every customer need. Sales volumes of some of these brands are higher at Reliance Trends than they are with the brands’ own exclusive outlets. It has tie-ups with some international brands and several others are keen to be part of the growth story. Reliance Trends was rated the most preferred department store as per a recent survey conducted by a magazine in 10 cities. It got a customer score of 74 per cent, four stars for service, in-store experience, price and product quality, and five stars for product range. Especially during the festive season, the chain offers customers irresistible deals like gift coupons. It has stores at Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Jalandhar, Kochi, Nashik, Indore, Vishakhapatnam, Guntur, Thane, Vijayawada, Baroda, Mangalore, Jaipur, Ranchi, Nagpur, Mysore, Lucknow, and the recently opened store at Ujjain.
