With a year-on-year growth of 21.53 per cent, Mandhana Industries, a multi-divisional

textile company, has posted a net profit of Rs 155 million during the April-June quarter of fiscal year 2011-12 compared to Rs 127.6 million in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal. Net sales of the company rose 42.56 per cent to Rs 2.05 billion during the first quarter as against Rs 1.44 billion achieved during the same period last fiscal. The company’s operating margins are likely to increase in the next quarter owing to a fall in prices of raw material and steady growth in demand for textiles and garments from both domestic and export markets.

Mandhana is hopeful that the expanded garment manufacturing capacity at its two facilities in Maharashtra– Tarapur and Baramati – would enable it to meet the increasing demand from its overseas customers during the next two quarters of the current fiscal. Mandhana Industries makes garments for the export market and fabric for the domestic market. Buoyant Indian consumption demand coupled with recovering exports portends a good future for textile players who straddle both markets. Mandhana’s business includes designing, yarn-designing, yarn dyeing, weaving, processing, dyeing and garment manufacturing. They have planned their infrastructural developments in order to help them integrate vertically and establish themselves as a niche player in the Indian textile Industry. Mandhana has long standing relations with overseas and domestic customers. They have a strong global presence supplying to a niche clientele spread across in the European countries mainly Italy, France, Germany, Turkey, Switzerland, Netherlands, UK, Spain, Australia and Israel.
