Vimal the premium men’s wear brand has brought back the Vimal Master Craftsmen Forum

with a new round of activity. Formed in April 2007, the forum was created by Reliance Industries’ textile division. The primary objective was to introduce the fashion forward movement in Indian men’s formal fashion market. It was conceptualized as an elite membership of the top suit craftsmen of India who would be skilled in the art of crafting fashionable Italian suits and jackets.

The forum was formed after three rounds of rigorous training sessions of the top Indian suits craftsmen by one of the best known Italian suit designers Maurizio Bonas. It was done under the aegis of Vimal, the fabric brand of Reliance Industries, India’s biggest corporate house. The training sessions were conducted in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore.

As a part of the latest activity, the Vimal Master Craftsmen Forum will conduct a seminar-cum-workshop at five centers, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai. In addition to the founder members of the forum, at least 70 to 80 new members will join the forum to learn the craft of fashionable Italian suits and jackets and spread the fashion forward movement further.

Launched in 1980, Vimal positioned itself as a premium men’s wear brand and went on to use celebrities as endorsers for the first time. Along the way, Vimal also became famous for making fashion available to the masses across the country through its wide range of synthetic fabrics.
