Titan’s youth fashion brand Fastrack is in the process of adding

new product categories such as motorcycle helmets, footwear and apparel, which will be introduced in the next fiscal 2012-2013. The company is also looking at starting a project to design and launch bicycles. Fastrack was introduced in 1998 by Titan Industries as its sub-brand in the low-cost segment. But the popularity of this brand has seen the retailer become more youth-centric over the seven years.

Fastrack already sells bags, belts, wallet and sunglasses for the youth. Targeting the college-going consumer base, Fastrack is also considering taking over a radio station or a TV channel. The company has 94 stores selling three million watches and one million sunglasses. The expected turnover at the end of this fiscal is Rs 630 crores. Fastrack constitutes 25 per cent of Titan’s turnover from the watch business and contributes 35 per cent to its profits from the same.

Fastrack is also looking at expanding its retail footprint by taking its store count up to 130 in this fiscal, and double it by 2013-2014. The new stores are going to be larger at 700 sq. ft, compared to existing 500 sq. ft.
