The Yatra Collection will help raise money to fight multiple

myeloma at its next private truck show, in Chicago on May 16. Events like this private show “Is what it means for us to promote fashion with a social mission,” said Yatra Collection's Rati Bahadur, who co-founded the Yatra Collection with childhood friend, Gayatri Khosla. “A portion of our proceeds from this show will benefit research and support to people fighting this cancer.”

The Yatra Collection, an independent fashion label featuring an artistic line of handmade, India-inspired apparel and accessories pays homage to the India of several generations with a contemporary edge. “Many of the private and boutique shows we participate in are fundraisers and really get at the heart of our drive to promote fashion with a social mission,” said Khosla.

The Yatra Collection focuses on simple silhouettes, classic pieces and perfect tailoring. The newest pieces in the Yatra Collection include jewelry with natural stones, sari-inspired shirts, embroidered and chiffon tunics, stoles and sari border crop tops. The clothes represent the vibrancy of every day life in India. The pieces are colourful, bright and echo the India that Khosla and Bahadur love so much. Khosla and Bahadur do not decide on a colour palette until they travel to India and absorb the streets, bazaars, food, music, the conversation and textures of life in cities big and small.
