The third edition of the Bangalore Fashion Week saw 25 designers participating from

all across the country. They included Jattin Kochhar, Checondra Sharan, Monika Mathuria, Arshi Jamal, Anju Modi and Shyamal Shodhan to name a few. The event began with a fashion show featuring the collections of Anju Modi and Arshi Jamal. A new addition to the ramp was ‘The Diamond Show’, which was the mainstay throughout the fashion week.

The collections were based on typical Indian attire, in which Modi made rich Banarasi-style saris, while Jamal whose forte is embroidery depicted a Mughal theme. On the second day big names like Aslam Khan, Michelle Salins and Lina Tipnis showcased their ensembles. While, Michelle Sallins’s collection was based on ‘Jewels of India’, Lina Tipnis’s collection was more on the post wedding. The third day had a mix of collections by designers known to specialize in their own style. These included some big names like Swapnil Shinde, Ramesh Dembla, and the grand finale, by Archana Kochhar. The fourth day of the fashion extravaganza was the glamorous finale, with none other than the inimitable JJ Valaya's show. The show stopper was Bollywood’s leggy beauty – Neha Dhupia. Prior to his show, Neeru’s the big fashion label, specializing in wedding collections, showcased their line.

All the three choreographers – Achala Sachdev, Rahul Dev Shetty and Sheetal Sharma – made sure that there was a smooth flow in the show. With an eclectic mix of designers, showstoppers brought down from the film industry, models – new and old -- the show had it all.
