As economic growth and stock market gains spur spending on luxury, Tag Heuer the luxury watch

brand plans to double its exclusive outlets in India. Since 1999, Tag Heuer has been a part of a world-renowned luxury group of companies, LVMH (Louis Vuitton- Moët Hennessy), making Tag a part of the world’s fourth largest watch-making enterprise.

The brand plans to open 15 showrooms in India in the next three years. Right now, it has six outlets. The brand sees the Indian market at about $500 million, big enough to be in Tag Heuer’s top 15 markets out of 120 and feels that together with China, India will be the next big thing for the watch industry in the coming years.

This watchmaker is considered avant-garde and is known for its sports watches and chronographs. Whether it is the choice of materials, focus on technology, or the world-class designs, Tag Heuer has set the standards. From developing the first patent for a chronograph mechanism in 1882 to the 1998 launch of the Kirium Ti5 (the first chronograph to measure time in hundreds of a second) the brand has been in the forefront. In addition to watches, Tag Heuer produces sunglasses and mobile phones.
