The Body Shop chalks India expansion

The Body Shop (TBS) recently opened three new outlets,

thereby going on to have 53 retail outlets across India. Two outlets opened in Bangalore -- one at Forum Mall and the other at 100 Feet Road, while another store opened at Phoenix United Mall in Lucknow. As a part of its growing popularity in India and its corresponding expansion plans, the upcoming Prozone Mall in Aurangabad is next in line with a TBS in the shop-in-shop at Shoppers Stop.

The Body Shop, which recently celebrated its 30th year of existence, had clocked a turnover of £485.8 million in 2005-06, and has also received several awards over years for its out-of-the-box communication tactics. The Body Shop International plc is among the original ethical cosmetics companies, now operating more than 2,500 stores in over 60 markets worldwide. It started its Indian chapter in June 2006 with its inaugural store in Mumbai.
