Fashion house Paco Rabanne, which launched a women's

ready-to-wear line last year, has parted ways with its artistic director, Manish Arora by a "mutual agreement". In 2011, designer Manish Arora had joined and his first collection for the house -- Spring/Summer 2012 – was presented on the official Paris show calendar in October 2011. But within a year of working with each other, Paco Rabanne and Manish Arora have parted ways.

The statement released by the fashion house, says, “We are most grateful to Manish for the work accomplished and the energy that he displayed all along this project. The strong media impact of the past two seasons has enabled Paco Rabanne to partake with strength in the universe of contemporary fashion.” Bur it did not explain why Arora was leaving. Confirming the development Arora says, “"Yes, I am no longer associated with Paco Rabanne but the journey has been amazing. The contract was for one year and I finished a year."He goes on to add he is busy with his own shows. At the moment he is doing two shows in one week in Paris.

Arora, who has his own line of apparel in an array of psychedelic colours and snappy prints, presented a critically acclaimed collection for Paco Rabanne in March. His first creations for the Paris-based Spanish fashion house featured exaggerated shoulders and hips reminiscent of Thierry Mugler's silhouettes of the 1980s.

Arora also says his stint at Paco Rabanne fashion was a very enriching experience and an exceptional artistic and human adventure. “I am, today, happy to have accomplished the mission I was trusted with in order to cast this iconic brand back into the spotlight.” After the split, he doesn’t plan to move back to India anytime soon though since his clients are based abroad and he is busy promoting his label internationally.
