Swarovski shines in India

Swarovski, the renowned brand for crystals and related luxury products, is on a new high

targeting over 25 per cent growth in India. The brand which came to India in 2002, offers a wide range of crystal sculptures, miniatures, jewelry and couture, home décor and chandeliers for its affluent urban audience.

Based on current growth rate, Swarovski is optimistic about doubling its retail base in the next two years in the metros and other large cities. The company presently has around 20 boutiques and plans to ramp-up its network to around 50 by 2012. Besides EBOs, it also has 14 shop-in-shops with Shoppers Stop. The Swarovski shops in India are held by dealers authorized and trained by the company. An average Swarovski shop spreads across 700-800 sq. mt.

According to Sukanya Dutta Roy, Country Manager, Swarovski-Consumer Goods Business-India, today, Swarovski India has stores in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad. And they are looking at opening two more stores of the new boutique design this year.

As a part of its expansion plans, the company has launched a 600 sq. ft. boutique at Palladium Mall in Mumbai. Renowned designer TokujinYoshioka has provided the creative inspiration for the retail architecture of a ‘Crystal Forest’ theme that highlights the infinite possibilities of crystal and illustrates Swarovski’s deep affinity with nature. The boutique’s exterior uses a myriad of stainless steel prisms and attractive display features with Swarovski jewels and decorative objects as well as a sparkling crystal column, in an attempt to draw the customers inside.
