Uniqlo same-store sales rise of 23.1 percent

In March 2013 same-store sales at Uniqlo Japan stores

increased by 23.1 percent year-on-year while sales at company’s own stores increased by 24.4 percent. Total sales including online sales increased by 22.9 percent. Same-store sales increased sharply year on year in March owing to the consistently warm weather and strong sales of spring garments including bottoms and AIRism brand spring/summer inner wear.

Company opened four Uniqlo stores and closed six during the month. The specialty retailer Uniqlo is Fast Retailing Group's mainstay operation, which offers casual wear at reasonable prices using its SPA (Specialty store retailer of Private label Apparel) business model, which spans product design, manufacture, distribution and retail.
