Uniqlo September same-store sales down by 2.4 percent

Uniqlo has announced that its same-store sales for

the September 2012 decreased 2.4 percent on year on year basis while sales at their own stores increased by 0.4 percent compared to its August 2012 same-store sales, which saw an increase of 2.0 percent year on year while sales at their own stores increased by 5.4 percent. Its total sales including online sales last month increased by 5.7 percent compared to this month’s increase of 0.7 percent. While the Company opened five new stores during the month, it also closed five stores.
Same-store sales held flat year on year basis in September owing to persistent summer heat through the latter part of the month negatively affecting the sales of fall/winter clothing.
