Duke to revamp women’s and kids category

With some of the most coveted awards for excellence in the garment industry and a compound annual growth rate of 35 per cent, Ludhiana-based Duke Fashions, is reigning over its competitors. With plans to increase retail spread,

create more shelf space in MBOs and revamp its ladies and kids portfolio, Duke, aims to take its turnover of Rs 150 crores to Rs 200 crores by the next fiscal. “Although approximately 85 per cent of the market is still unorganized, the trend is now changing and moving towards the branded segment. We believe in a retailing strategy of reaching and exploring new markets and more avenues for sales while creating extra space in the market through existing channels. Our retail outlets comprises of a mix of MBOs and EBOs. We currently have around 3,000 MBOs and 265 EBOs and plan to add another 70 stores by the end of year. Our ratio of sales between metros and non-metros is 30:70,” says Kuntal Raj Jain, Director, Duke Fashions.

Inspired by the European summer life, Duke’s New European Summer Collection showcases trendy international fashion in exciting color combinations and designs. It has wide options in casuals, office wear, and evening wear. Duke’s product range comprise of: T-shirts, shirts, trousers, denims, bermudas, lowers, and lounge wear. The most highlighted product categories are the value packs, which comprise of different T-shirts in a combination of colors and styles as well as mega short designer packs. The value packs for ladies and kids are also creating a rage with its exclusive designs, fits and pricing. The lounge wear range consists of T-shirt Bermuda sets and T-shirt lower set, which are ideal as night wear and evening wear.

“The trend in T shirts for this season is short styles in vibrant hues and trendy casuals with various effects, which are the essence of great fashion. Bright and earthen shades would be the pick of the season while polos and round necks are the preferred items,” adds Jain.

Having created a niche the company has received numerous awards. The most Coveted ITID National Award for manufacturing Quality Garments; ISO 9001: 2000; certificate for maintaining TQM in all the units; Leader’s of Tomorrow award 2010; Udyog Patra from the Government of India; Employee Safety Award from the Punjab Government; and Retail Excellence Award from DFU Publications Mumbai are some of them. Duke has been proclaimed the number one selling T-shirt brand in India by ORG-MARG in their survey.
