The co-owner of Australian accessories brand The Daily Edited, Alyce Tran, has reportedly sold her stake in the business following a two-year court dispute with her former business partner.

The pair started The Daily Edited in 2014 while they were working at a law firm in Perth, Western Australia, and is now a multi-million dollar business with stores in Sydney and New York.

The now sole owner of the company, Tania Lui, launched legal action in 2019, claiming Ms. Tran spent thousands of dollars of the company’s earnings. However, Ms. Tran denied any wrongdoing and filed a cross-claim with the court.

Ms. Tran’s part in the business was recently settled for an undisclosed sum leading to the end of any court action.

She told the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, which reported the news, that she had wanted to sell the business for a long time.

“I have given a lot to this business in terms of my time and life and ideas – with product, I have left no stone unturned in terms of the range,” Tran said.

Wishing Lui well with the business’ future she added: “I am a very positive person so I never want to have any bad energy out there.”

Lui confirmed that as a result of the sale “we will be ending the litigation actions between ourselves, and also between [The Daily Edited] and Alyce.”

Lui also said she is looking forward to sharing her future vision for the business and continuing its growth both locally and internationally in the years to come.
