Lotto to roll out 100 retail outlets by next year

Having kept a good pace of growth at 25 percent per annum, brand Lotto has recently extended its licensing contract for another 15 years in India. Also on the cards is retail expansion across the country. The journey so far has been satisfactory

even though there were ups and downs. However, there was a significant turning point, when Lotto announced the extension of their licensing contract for an additional 15 years, for production and distribution of Lotto branded products in India starting from January 2011. This gave the Indian partner, Sports Lifestyle the confidence necessary for a long term union.

The
brand is being sold through 65 exclusive outlets and over 200 shop-in-shops/large format stores like Shoppers Stop, Reliance Footprint, Central, Pantaloon, Planet Sports, among others. Apart from this, it has a pan India presence of more than 2,000 outlets through a distribution network. As per a company spokesperson their target is to have 100 operational stores by next year. The brand is also being sold through major multi model e-commerce players like Jabong, Yebhi, Myntra and Flipkart and the sale contribution from this model is increasing every year.

Lotto’s product portfolio in India includes leisure and performance products for footwear, apparel and accessories. There are constant enhancements and product innovations within these broad categories. The footwear collection has top of the line tennis and soccer performance products along with a substantial offering in the running and leisure. Lotto also offers a vast collection of sandals and sabots (slippers) providing a combination of quality and design.

In apparels, the collection focuses on active lifestyle both for men and women with a rich selection of fabrics, colours and styles which give a true representation of Italian feel. The offering consists of a multitude of designs across categories like crews, polos, striper polos, graphics, lowers, shorts in fabrics like cotton, fast – dry polyester and microfiber. The accessories collection consists of socks, caps, headbands, wristbands and bags, backpacks, office bags, drum bags, watches, wet-kits and balls among others.

This season, Lotto products would have a prominence of ‘Lizard Green’ colour inspired from the colour of tennis balls. Apart from Lizard green color, the footwear line will have colors like lime green and royal blue in men’s collection and pink, blue, sea green and purple in the women collection. Likewise, in apparel category lizard green color will be more visible in the performance wear category; there will be more usage of soothing blue and others in tune to the climatic season. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Lotto a special “Forty range” has been introduced in apparel line.

With the success of Skyride introduced last season, they have launched another version of Skyride this season (SS ’13). Skyride is an extremely light weight shoe conceived for multi-sport use and leisure. This time it has been launched in three colours: Army Green, Black/Risk Red and Silver/Lizard Green. They would also be launching a performance oriented shoe – Rearch Hyde available in black and lemon this season.”
