Apart from exploring overseas destinations like Singapore, Bangkok and Bangladesh, men’s wear label Turtle is also planning to expand into accessories by adding men’s eyewear to become a complete lifestyle brand for men. Commenting

on their plans, Shitanshu Jhunjhunwalla, Director, Turtle says, “While we will continue with our expansion plans for Tier I cities of Bengal, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Orissa, it is the Tier II, III cities that will be growth drivers for the company in the future. We are also exploring opportunities for setting up stores overseas. And with sales exceeding expectations last winter and 60 per cent year-on-year growth, we are optimistic about a similar growth figure this year.”

Kolkata-based
brand Turtle is now present in over 400 cities across India with over 60 exclusive Turtle and London Bridge stores. Turtle merchandise is available in over 1,600 multi brand outlets and in over 100 large format retail stores. The company also has a foothold in the overseas markets of Italy, Dubai, Bahrain and Kuwait. “In the fiscal 2011-12, we achieved over 35 per cent CAGR and clocked a turnover of Rs 123 crores. We wish to maintain a steady growth rate for the next few years. We have witnessed overwhelming response and our products are being accepted well. Our stores are present in most hi-streets as well as in small towns,” adds Jhunjhunwalla.

Turtle’s festive captures the essence of the season, the collection is in bright tones of reds, oranges, purples, greens and apart from the regular blues and blacks, there are tones of greys and beige in denims with oxford base along with a wide array of linen trousers, jackets, suits and gilets in tailored, relaxed and luxury category for the ultimate comfort and style. The brand offers an assortment of shirts, trousers, polos, denims, jackets, suits and accessories under its fold.

Elaborating on the summer collection for 2013, Jhunjhunwalla says, “We will have a range of khadi jackets apart from a range of slim fit shirts and trousers. The collection will be at par with international brands and the colour palette will consist of beige, white and greys.”

Turtle has carved a niche for itself providing formidable value and international style across a range of apparel and accessories. The company has also been engaged in the conservation of the Olive Ridley turtles in Orissa.
