At the recent Wills Lifestyle Fashion week, the designer duo

of David Abraham and Rajesh Thakore showcased especially woven soft, singles count hand loomed fabrics inspired by a warm and sultry south Indian summer. In keeping with the spirit of a spring/summer 2011 this new elegant collection in high-quality washed cottons in ivory, white and earth colors highlighted dressing on a warm day.  Billowy elongated silhouettes in the new ‘long’, and ‘square’ in natural fabrics that can move sensually in warm winds were the order of the day in the ethnic and western collection.

The collection encompasses the elegant soft white of the dhoti; a glimpse of ivory amidst the green foliage; the luxuriant growth along the backwaters in the Kerala landscape. They thought along the same straight lines and cuts, but these are clothes one can wear differently. The new easy kurta and the wide-legged pajama made for an innovative but subtle change in ethnic wear while the new long skirt- spare shapes complete the line. Cotton saris matched with tank tops and trendy accessories such as tan colored leather bags, slender belts accentuating the waist as well as Kolhapuri platform heels.

Abraham and Thakore are one of India’s most successful and respected design resources for fashion and accessories as well as textile products for home. They are known for their straight lines, simple cuts and neat clothing. Their outfits are retailed in exclusive boutiques in India, Europe, Japan, US and the Middle East.
