AEPC at Russia’s ‘Fashion Industry International Fair’

Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) is now targeting

the Russian apparel as it gets ready to participate in one of the largest apparel fair of CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) region -- ‘Fashion Industry International Fair’, (FIIF). The event will be held at Saint Petersburg, from October 11 to 14. FIIF is one of the largest and most significant events for clothing industry professionals in Russia. With over 300 exhibitors of readymade garments, knitwear, underwear and hosiery, leather and fur coats, textiles, shoes and bags, equipment, fittings and accessories exhibiting; attracting over 15,000 visitors from all over Russia and overseas.

Commenting on AEPC’s participation in FIIF, A Sakthivel, Chairman, AEPC, says, “The fair aims to create the best conditions for one’s presentation of readymade garments, exchange of professional experience in the sector of technologies and professional business organization, establishment of new contacts and concluding treaties, marketing research and research of one’s goods comprehensiveness. Saint Petersburg, Russia has 1,400 middle and 44 large fashion garment companies. There are around 11, 000 fashion retail companies and over 80 large trade centers. Therefore, it’s a huge opportunity business wise.”

It is to be noted that the import duty on RMG in Russia currently varies from 11.8 to 24 per cent for India under MFN applied tariff for trade.
