Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), the apex

body of Indian apparel exporters’ event the ‘India Market Days’ project starts today in Gurgaon and will be on till November 7, 2012. Chairman (F & B), HKL Magu in his welcome speech to said, “The event will help garment exporters find the right partners for their business. Through Apparel House, we have provided them with the well-spaced showrooms wherein they can interact and negotiate good business.”

Market Days is AEPC’s endeavor for export promotion initiatives for the year 2012-13 wherein the industry body is hopeful that the apparel exporters will generate good business deals with buyers from the continent countries.

India Market Days is a project approved by Ministry of Textiles and is funded under the Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India for inviting overseas buyers and buying agents under Reverse BSM.

The product profile covers the entire value chain of the textile and clothing industry including blouses, casual wear, children’s wear, co-ordinates, denim wear, infants’ wear, knitwear, ladies wear, men’s wear, shirts, shorts, silk garments, skirts, suits, sweat shirts, T-shirts, home furnishing among others.

Nearly 23 overseas buyers from nine companies and 21 buying agents visited the last India Market Days and business where business worth approximately 4 million dollars (Rs 21 crores) was finalized/negotiated. To boost Indian exports of garments and fashion accessories, more than 100 showroom holders are going to exhibit their latest collections to buyers from countries like Greece, Australia, Botswana, South Africa, Ecuador and US. Some of the leading buying agents like UCB, Numero Uno, Reebok, Li & Fung, Texport India were part of this event.
