Ahujasons Shawl Wale plans to infuse around Rs 140 crores to expand its retail

footprint across India and overseas. The company aims to open 12 showrooms in India and 6 abroad in the next 5 years. The planned investment would be raised through internal accruals.

New showrooms will be a mix of company owned and franchise outlets. At present, the company has two retail outlets in Delhi and one in Tokyo. The company plans to open showrooms in Kolkata, Hong Kong and Beijing by next year. It sells over 20 lakh units per year with its products priced in the range of Rs 300 to Rs 3.5 lakh.

Ahujasons earns around 60 percent of its total turnover from exports, and despite its domestic expansion plans, it would continue to focus on exports to increase turnover. Founded in 1979 with its first store in Delhi, Ahujasons Shawl Wale began exporting in 1992 with the opening of first overseas office in Paris.
