Fashion designer Amit GT will participate at Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris to be held from

October 1 to 4, 2010 later this year, where he will be showcasing around 150 styles. He launched his own prêt label ‘Senses’ by Amit GT in January 2003. Later it was rechristened to ‘Amit GT’, today it’s an umbrella for the prêt, diffusion and couture lines. The Musée des Arts décoratifs is a reflection of crafts know-how, of the evolution of styles, of technological innovations, of the creativity of artists.

The Paris collection will be divided into three categories: resort wear, ready-to-wear and couture line. This will be the first time he will be experimenting with prints especially in resort wear with the use of the best of fabrics like French laces and frills for ready-to-wear. The inspiration for resort wear is various paintings of artists, telegraphic details and calligraphic prints while ready-to-wear is a simple and mature line. One can see his signature style in the couture line. The silhouettes will be defined from jackets, shift dresses to skirts, maxis and sensuous gowns.

Amit is retailing from many stores in Europe and Latin America and is looking forward to tap the US market now. He hopes to keep a stall at the Wills India Fashion week, though showcasing on the ramp is uncertain in view of the Paris event. He is also looking forward to designing for a Hollywood project. Amit GT is probably one of the few designers whose international presence is widely known.
