Designer Suneet Varma, who has bagged the franchise

rights for Armani Junior, in India, is launching the store at the end of this month. The designer had floated a private firm – Unique Eye Luxury Apparel along with few partners and signed a three store deal with the kid’s label in July last year.

Holding a decade-old experience as a designer, Varma feels that creativity does not lie only in making good clothes, but one can even go beyond to explore business avenues as well. He wants to build upon his knowledge and expertise as a designer to make this venture successful by not only offering creative clothing for kids but also by introducing a creative environment for kids with activities like art appreciation, music appreciation classes for kids, bringing in theatre personalities to interact with the kids inside the store premises.

According to ASSOCHAM study, Growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 20 per cent the kids’ apparel market in India is likely to reach Rs 80,000 crores by 2015. Reasons like increasing media exposure, high disposable income of the parents, peer pressure, growing fashion and brand consciousness among children are together driving the growth of kids’ apparel market in India.
