‘Arvind’ apparel brand to be launched next year

Unraveling the company’s plans after the launch of its

first flagship store in Ahmedabad, Kulin S Lalbhai, Executive Director, New Initiatives, Arvind told media that the denim maker will launch the ‘Arvind’ brand apparels across India next year. The company that currently markets its products under Nautica, Flying Machine, US Polo and Arrow brands aims to establish its new apparel label in the Rs 2,000 crores branded apparel market in the country.

The new store spread across 4,000 square foot is the biggest store out of the 100 existing 'The Arvind Stores'. With the new big store concept, the idea is to re-build and recreate the Arvind brand, not only offering complete apparel range but also a line of accessories. The company also has Studio Arvind, the custom tailoring unit and Arvind Denim Lab (ADL) to cater to its customers in a better way.

The exclusive store has also introduced a self-designing place, which allows a customer to design personalised denim of his or her choice with stitching, buttons and even his or her name on it. Plans are also afoot to open two to three such exclusive flagship stores in the metros in the next few months apart from adding another 30 stores to its existing chain of retail outlets.

Arvind’s turnover in 2012-13 stood at Rs 5,500 crores and brands and retail contributed one-third it. The company foresees a 20 percent growth in revenues this fiscal and in the next five years, target is to make the apparel business worth Rs 6,000 crores.
