The 132-year-old Swiss watch brand Bandelier has been appointed the official watch licensee for Indian
Premier League. Bandelier is known worldwide for making solid and durable pocket watches. However, this is the first time in international cricket that a Swiss watch brand will collaborate with a cricket league to create and market a collection of its watches and men’s accessories. The collection named ‘IPL Trophy’ will consist of trendy watches for both men and women, a range of writing instruments, cufflinks and tie-bars modeled around the IPL and its teams.Nine variants (one each for the eight IPL teams and one for the IPL) have been designed with the team colors and logos. A diamond variant for ladies will also be available. Priced between Rs 45,000 to Rs 55,000, the watch will also have chronographs and limited editions priced above Rs. 2 lakh.
Bandelier plans to distribute the watch globally through the Finex Group. Incidentally, the Finex Group has launched many luxury brands in the Indian market. They include Cartier, Vertu, Christian Dior and many others. Bandelier IPL Trophy collection will be available at leading watch retailers, select department stores and through both the IPL and Bandelier websites.
