Bebe stores Q4 retail sales down 8.5 percent

REPORT_ For the fourth fiscal quarter, Bebe stores

retail sales fell by 8.5 percent compared to the fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2012. Comparable store sales for the fiscal quarter decreased 7.1 percent compared to a decrease of 2.5 percent in the fourth fiscal quarter of the prior year.

Retail sales for the fiscal year showed a decrease of 8.6 percent compared to the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012. Comparable store sales for the fiscal year decreased 8.8 percent compared to an increase of 5.3 percent for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012. As of July 6, 2013, average finished goods inventory per square foot increased approximately 3.1 percent compared to the prior year.

Bebe stores is based in California. It is a global specialty retailer, which designs, develops and produces contemporary women's apparel and accessories under the Bebe, Bebe Sport, Bbsp and 2b bebe brand names. Bebe currently operates 240 stores.
