Keeping the body-conscious Indian women in mind, who love dressing up, yet feel

shy to step out in body-hugging or skimpy bikinis, well-known swimwear designers Shivan Bhatiya and Narresh Kukreja have designed a bikini sari that shows a hint of flesh but still covers up the body.

And the design is creating headlines with fashion-savvy Indian women willing to shell out up to 450 pounds for this unique piece of garment. According to the Delhi-based designer duo, Indian women have the best bodies in the world and they wanted them to drop inhibitions and come out of their shell. Their motto has already succeeded, thanks to the fancy cocktails dos and beach weddings, which have become a new way of celebrating important occasions here.

The designers have skilfully mastered the craft of using colour blocking of various shades as an intelligent way to highlight assets and hide flaws. They are the owners of Shivan and Narresh, the only Indian luxury swimwear brand and the first beach wear designs doing 100 per cent handcrafted stitch free and ready to wear swim line. They recently launched the first exclusive store at Pali Hill in Bandra, Mumbai. In 2008, the pair was invited to launch their brand in Cannes at the Mare di Moda, Europe’s biggest swimwear exposition, where they presented a 100 per cent stitch-free collection.
