Birla Century unveils refurbished flagship

Birla Century has opened doors to its flagship store in Worli,

a commercial and affluent residential northern locale in Mumbai. The refurbished store is located just below the registered office of Century Textiles & Industries. Spread over an area of approximately 5,000 sq. ft, the store is well laid-out and designed for great shopping convenience. It offers a new range of exquisite premium shirting, suiting, fancy finer fabrics in super-fine cotton counts besides contemporary bed-linen to suit the home interior. Apparel brand ‘Cottons by Century’ offers fashion wear for men and women across categories like shirts, trousers, T-shirt, salwar, kurta, dupatta and accessories like ties, cufflinks, belts and handkerchiefs. It also caters to corporate customers with formal and casual clothing for varied occasions such as office-wear, high-powered corporate meets, social gatherings, celebrations and leisure. The shop also has a well-groomed team of fashion advisors to assist buyers in making the right choice, according to a company spokesperson.

Birla Century is a division of Century Textiles and Industries and is renowned for its 100 per cent cotton fabrics. It aims to provide value-based shopping in a lifestyle ambiance and an exotic product range. Century Textiles operates more than 100 stores in India and is planning a vigorous expansion in the next couple of years. Incorporated in 1897, as a public limited company till 1951, the company operated only one cotton textile mill in Mumbai. Thereafter, it has made rapid progress, expanding and diversifying its activities and today it is a well diversified conglomerate. Century Textiles has specialized segments, with one segment specializing in cotton textiles, yarn and denim whilst the other is into rayon. In the revenue mix of the company, textiles division contributes to 17 per cent whereas pulp and paper a 24 per cent and cement a whopping 56 per cent.
