Canali eyes larger pie of India’s luxury market share

Italian luxury clothing brand Canali considers India among top 10 markets globally. It has

six standalone stores in Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai and the brand opened its first exclusive store at Quest Mall, Kolkata this April. The men’s clothing and accessories brand from Italy that entered India in 2004 foresees great potential in the Indian market.

As per Paolo Canali, Group Commercial Director of Canali, who visited the Kolkata store recently, the company is ready to explore interesting markets in right places and can become aggressive but only if its requirements as far as locations are concerned are met. The brand has been witnessing 20-25 percent year-on-year growth in the country. Moving ahead, the company may consider opening stores in Tier II cities like Ludhiana, Pune or Surat it finds the right space for luxury goods.

After changing domestic partner in 2007, the brand has witnessed an aggressive growth under Genesis Luxury. Canali, known for its fine tailoring, elegance and style in men’s luxury fashion is a 100 percent Made-in-Italy label. The brand has made quality, the bespoke tradition and ‘Made in Italy’ essential characteristics of its product philosophy and strategic choices, over almost 80 years in the business.

Canali
