Catmoss to venture into footwear

Catmoss the well known kid’s brand will start selling footwear and accessories through its exclusive
apparel stores in a couple of months. The company expects the two new categories to contribute 8 to 10 per cent to its revenues from next fiscal. The footwear and accessories will be sourced locally. Catmoss caters to children up to 14. Delhi-based Catmoss is a brand from the 25-year-old Ashwani Sarees Group, a leading name in the Indian textile Industry.The brand opened four years ago and now has 196 exclusive stores all over India with plans to have another 67 stores by the end of 2011. It’s available at leading department stores like Shoppers Stop, Lifestyle, Globus, Ritu Wear, Reliance Trends, Central, Spencer’s, Retail, Brand Factory, Ebony, Chunmun etc. The company clocked in revenues of Rs 214 crores in 2010-2011 and expects sales worth Rs 250 crores this year. It also plans to take its products to overseas markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai and Nepal. The company is initially looking to tie-up with dealers and will later set up exclusive stores in these countries.
