planning to expand its operations in the domestic market. This season the brand has come up with a variant color palette which includes purple, lilac, electric blue, lemon yellow and beige. Nearly 50 per cent of their collection has stripes while 25 per cent is solid. “This summer we are also launching casual trousers under the same brand. These will be priced between Rs 1,099 and Rs 1,599,” says Vaibhav Sakpal, CEO, Vaampus Export Import Holdings the makers of Cobalt Menz.
The brand is planning to expand and reach out to newer markets and is in talks with large format stores for shelf space. “We will not concentrate on opening our own stores as it hampers our growth,” says Sakpal. “Our understanding is that individual brand stores cannot work alone for a brand. Maybe after a year we will open a few exclusive stores on high streets,” he adds. The brand is also searching for newer markets where recession has not affected consumer psychology. Cities like Latur in Maharashtra and Tirupati and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh are their target. At the moment, Cobalt supplies to 63 MBOs.
