Cottonking to add 70 stores

Cottonking, a Pune-based clothing company in the menswear segment is planning to
spread out and add 70 new stores across India. These will come up in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka by the year-end. The initial plan is to strengthen its presence in the current markets of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh through its existing 54 stores. To support its expansion plans, the company has decided to invest Rs 3-4 crore in the next one year. Cottonking has by now made an investment of Rs 15-20 crores to set up the manufacturing unit at Baramati that is spread across 84,000 sq. ft., having capacity of 2,000-2,500 pieces a day. It entered Hyderabad market with four stores six months ago and has plans to open more franchisee stores there.Cottonking has two brands under its umbrella known as Regalia for the mid segment and Royale for the premium segment. These are priced between Rs 595 and Rs 995. It also plans to enter the women’s and kid’s segments. The company achieved a turnover of Rs 36 crores last year and targets Rs 55 crores this year.
